I work in Film. I live in Martial Arts. I thrive in Imagination.

WHY I LIKE THIS VIDEO: Kurosawa was a master filmmaker, relying on image to convey his emotions. How he captures emotions with this imagery is conceptually brilliant. I could watch this video a hundred times and always learn more.

Become Your Own General

“A general is just as good or just as bad as the troops under his command make him.”

General of the Army Douglas MacArthur

Generals study all military maneuvers and tactics whether the enemy or the ally. Victory is the key to unlocking knowledge.

Why This Is Important:  MacArthur was a General of the Army, an appointment held for life. In the U.S. Army, there were only five Generals of the Army: George C. Marshall, Douglas MacArthur, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Henry H. Arnold and Omar Bradley. They Knew One Thing:  To Take Command of a Battle, you have to take command of yourself.

With confidence in yourself and your mission, you can attain any goal. You have Personal Power beyond your wildest dream in your will, determination and resolve. Americans persevered through harrowing, brutal circumstances to win wars against tyranny in the American Revolution, World War II and the Cold War. With intellectual resolve, scientists discovered penicillin to save lives, enriched the lives of humanity with electricity, computers and media. Human Will landed a man on the Moon.

Individual will has enormous power in the political arena when harnessed into collective energy to confront a specific threat. Writer Thomas Paine distributed his pamphlet, “Common Sense”, throughout the American colonies. It advocated independence from Britain and stoked the fires of independence. One man with a pamphlet!  The Republican party was formed to abolish slavery. Ronald Reagan created not just a national consciousness about the Soviet threat, but a National Will to support a defense posture to topple the evil enslaving empire of communist/left-wing Soviet Union.

Did You Know...

... if you improve 1/2% each day, then you will be 267% better over one year? Who can compete with that?

Setting Yourself Up for Success usually doesn't mean one big jump but rather incremental change day after day. Think of it like a ocean wave, moving far out in the Pacific with almost an undetectable push...finally with the power and grace of an ocean wave onto the beach. Create your own metaphor to embrace small habits with a huge future impact.
