With your Powerful Why in hand, now you can start 'Brainstorming the How' to figure out how your Enthusiasm and Dream Goal can translate into practical and logical steps in cultivating and using your contacts, money, time and other resources. So this is the blending of the emotional Powerful Why with the logical Brainstorming the How. A delicate balancing act between these two polarities but an essential next step.
You can accelerate "Brainstorming the How" by making long exhaustive lists. Yes, you will actually have to do some work and write it down. IF you come up with a great idea, then write it down immediately. DO NOT WAIT.
Sparks - like creativity - disappear into the darkness within seconds.
What are on your Lists? You will have to decide for yourself but my suggestion is to start with the Umbrella Concept of "All My Resources". As you know, I work in the media industry ("It's no longer the film industry" as I tell people), so I focus on various storytelling projects such as films, TV shows, novels, stories, etc., This area is my keen interest.
However, your Dream Goal may be far different than my work. You might:
Want to open a custom garage for classic cars
Have Your own restaurant
Become a Forest Ranger
Study Biology and become a specialized scientist
Start a Non-Profit group for the environment, people with needs, an underserved group.
You still start with an Umbrella of Resources with a goal, in this case, of "
Want to open a custom garage for classic cars.
Remember that we are using the "Grid Notebook" because we are thinking outside the lines. I am using highlighters to show up better in the photos for purposes of illustration.
We need to define "Resources"
Resources - Merriam Webster Dictionary
1a: a source of supply or support : an available means —usually used in plural
b: a natural source of wealth or revenue —often used in plural
c: a natural feature or phenomenon that enhances the quality of human life
d: computable wealth —usually used in plural
e: a source of information or expertise
So under this Resource Umbrella, we will put "Categories related to the Goal at hand." You can do as many categories and pages as you want. In fact, I suggest that you think about your Resources for a week or two or three or four. Make changes, adjustment, color coding - whatever works for you.
Once you have a list, then start connecting the dots, making connections, seeing new pathways for making your Goal come true. Right now, you are using this grid exercise to find some Action Points.
In this case, I would be contacting Harry at the Car Show to see if he knew guys from whom I could borrow (car garage) equipment. Perhaps I might be able to rent the equipment, borrow it, strike a mutually helpful deal such as renting his garage while building up my experience, skill, clientele and marketing.
Just one thought of connecting the dots. We will see more in another lesson called "Scholar Warrior Way: RPM's Result>Purpose>MAP (Massive Action Plan)".
Get to work.
Persevere.
Be relentless and FOCUS ON YOUR DREAM GOAL.
