Consider Habits Which Create Your Destiny

Have you ever stopped to consider your daily habits? Those seemingly mundane routines and small ways you do things can have a much bigger impact on your life than you might think. Some habits, like smoking or procrastination, can even be detrimental to your health and career. Fortunately, technological advancements have made it easier than ever to track your habits and work towards breaking those bad ones. With the help of habit tracking apps, you can set goals, visualize your progress, and stay on track towards achieving your dreams. So why not take a step towards a happier, healthier life and explore the world of habit tracking today?

Good Habits or Bad Habits?

Every day, we are guided by habits that often go unnoticed. It can be the way we brush our teeth or check our phones. However, some habits can be more harmful than we realize, such as smoking or indulging in junk food. These habits can have detrimental effects on our health and wellbeing.

On the other hand, habits like procrastination can take a toll on our work and career.

Thankfully, there are many habit tracking apps available that can help us set goals and eliminate bad habits. With the right habit tracker website or app, we can visualize our progress and stay focused on our journey towards self-improvement. So why not take advantage of these tools and start your journey towards a better you today?

Use a Phone Habit Tracking App

I use an app called “Strides” which allows me a lot of specifics on my habits.

-Monday Through Sunday? Or Certain Days?

-How many times a day like…drinking water? Getting up from my desk?

-Trends - mental rewards for continuity

-Progress on my Habits.

They have them for both iphone and Android. I am just letting people know that this app has been one of the most useful purchases I've ever made to give me easy access, tracking, accountability and even a certain 'gamify' of my positive habit building.

Using my Habit Forming App on my phone (there are a bunch out there), I discovered a few things to pass along.

1. Good feedback to ‘earn’ the little green dot which means I filled my obligation for the day or week.

2. Watch how high I am setting the bar. I vowed initially to drink 8 classes of water a day. I felt like I was swimming. I used my sense of perspective in doing martial arts. Learn Short Form 1 in the first week and don’t do Long 7 until 30 years later. In other words, succeed at a doable ‘shorter’ habit and build up.

3. Showing up. We've all been there; setting the same goals, month after month and year after year. Building lasting habits doesn't have to be an endless struggle. In fact, I think success lies in just showing up consistently and with a perpetual sense of progress - no matter how small it may be - to add another brick towards the cathedral you are trying to build. I’ve heard people say that “half of success is just showing up.” So on a few items, I am doing 2x a week and not every day.

4. Patience with myself. See all the above.

5. Make it fun. Where is the fun factor? That’s why people succeed at winning games. So I make the ‘spacing of my new habits a bit of a game.’ I am able to combine weightlifting (hand weights) with a review of French words on my Babbel language app. Mon Dieu!

So the ‘combo’ new habit is a Two-fer !

6. Adjust adjust adjust. Over Ambitious may not kill the new habit but it can for me kill the start of the new habit. It’s all going to add up.

Did You Know...

... if you improve 1/2% each day, then you will be 267% better over one year? Who can compete with that?

Setting Yourself Up for Success usually doesn't mean one big jump but rather incremental change day after day. Think of it like a ocean wave, moving far out in the Pacific with almost an undetectable push...finally with the power and grace of an ocean wave onto the beach. Create your own metaphor to embrace small habits with a huge future impact.
