An insightful book on the manipulations both necessary and self-serving of the man who would lead the CIA upon its creation. Dulles had a brother, John Foster Dulles, who was the secretary of state at the time. Together, with one hand in State and the other at the CIA, the Dulles brothers forged the Cold War direction of America in many ways. The book also outlines how Allen Dulles would protect his past clients at his old law firm, Sullivan and Cromwell.

One of Dulles most notorious collaborations was with SS General Karl Wolff in the surrender of Italy. A very good read.
